Weekend Long Celebration – Dogecoin Now 6th Largest Cryptocurrency

Over the past weekend, Dogecoin (DOGE) was able to surpass Cardano (ADA) as the world’s sixth largest cryptocurrency.
Dogecoin’s new rally set off after confirmation of Elon Musk taking over Twitter on Thursday was made public. The self-proclaimed Dogefather was the fuel on the fire starting the surge to at its peak was $0.145 according to CoinMarketCap.
Good for an almost 100% gain in one week’s time at the time of writing, Dogecoin is now the sixth largest crypto coin in the world with a market cap of a little over $15.5 billion.
Elon Musk has always been vocal about the meme coin and its use cases. As CEO of Tesla Motors he enabled payments for merchandise to be made with Dogecoin.
When Musk joined the Twitter board in May of this year after becoming the largest private shareholder in the social media platform, he promised to bring “significant improvement” to the platform. One of his suggestions was to make DOGE a payment option for the Twitter Blue subscription service.
Twitter has long been under scrutiny over not being transparent and fair when it comes to suspending accounts. Musk taking ownership of Twitter is a hopeful step into solving this important global with Dogecoin potentially playing a big role in this, for example when it comes to account verifications or as currency for posting Tweets and replies. As Musk confirmed a new path for Twitter, “the bird is freed!”
