While the world counts 9,630 individuals boasting a net worth of at least $100 million in traditional money, a unique niche emerges in the crypto space. A recent study reveals that a select 182 people globally hold over $100 million exclusively in cryptocurrencies.

New World Wealth and Henley and Partners conducted in-depth research into the crypto-affluent, unearthing startling revelations. For instance, out of these 182 cryptocurrency centi-millionaires, Bitcoin is the choice for 78. Moreover, the world now recognizes 22 individuals as crypto billionaires, with Bitcoin being the primary wealth source for six of them.

The report shared by Henley and Partners brings to light, “This unique report provides exclusive statistics on the number of crypto and Bitcoin millionaires, centi-millionaires, and billionaires, as well as insights from leading academics, industry experts, and players in the crypto world.”

However, it’s not just about numbers. The research delves into the behaviors of these crypto elites, highlighting a trend that has caught many by surprise. Many wealthy crypto holders look to relocate, seeking countries with friendlier cryptocurrency regulations.

In a statement, Dr. Juerg Steffen, the CEO of Henley and Partners, remarked, “Over the past six months, we have seen a significant increase in inquiries from crypto millionaires who want to protect themselves from potential future bans on trading or the use of cryptocurrency in their own countries and want to limit the risks of aggressive tax measures that directly tax digital assets.”

To evaluate crypto adoption globally, Henley and Partners rolled out their Crypto Adoption Index. Collaborating with New World Wealth, they studied the habits of over 150,000 affluent individuals. Their research zoomed in on those possessing a minimum of $10 million in investable assets.
