The specifics of how NHN will incorporate NFTs and crypto tokens in their upcoming titles remain a mystery. However, Jin Lee, NHN’s Head of Business Development, shared insights into their vision. He highlighted the potential of players gifting in-game items as NFTs and the chance to earn crypto token rewards.
Lee drew a parallel between crypto gaming and the evolution the industry has seen. “From game copy sales to PC and social games, and from feature phones to smartphones, the gaming landscape has continuously transformed,” Lee mentioned. “Marrying the essence of game content with tokenomics represents the next big leap.”
NHN’s collaboration with Mysten Labs, the genius behind Sui, arises from their shared vision for the future of crypto gaming. Evan Cheng, the CEO of Mysten Labs, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the challenge in creating Web3 products that can draw users in large numbers. “We aim to deliver Web3’s benefits to a global audience. Drawing significant user volume is crucial for us,” Cheng stated.
