Algorand Foundation Launches Blockchain Academy in Partnership with UNDP

The Algorand Foundation has formally announced the opening of the Algorand Blockchain Academy, marking a major step towards promoting blockchain education. This program, which was unveiled in a press release on November 30, 2023, is positioned to enhance the competencies of UNDP personnel by providing them with extensive education and training in blockchain technology.

The Algorand Blockchain Academy is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024 and will provide about 22,000 UNDP workers with a strong educational foundation. The school will include interactive workshops and lectures that have been filmed, giving attendees important insights into how blockchain technology is being applied. Robert Pasicko, a UNDP expert on low-carbon development and alternative finance, is excited about the partnership and says it will better prepare the group to tackle global issues.

“We are thrilled to leverage the credibility and expertise of the Algorand Foundation to upskill, empower, and inspire UN practitioners worldwide,” says Robert Pasicko.

Financial Inclusion and Transparent Supply Chains

A study on how blockchain might improve supply chain transparency and reach underserved populations is part of the curriculum for UNDP employees. This clever teaching program emphasizes how blockchain technology may be used to solve complicated global problems and promote sustainable development.

Following this revelation, the native token of Algorand, ALGO, saw a noteworthy increase of more than 2%, peaking at $0.13 in trade value according to CoinGecko statistics.

This partnership represents a major advancement in the UN’s use of blockchain technology. To standardize blockchain, the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) and the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) teamed together in July 2023. Using the GBA’s maturity model, the Dynamic Coalition on blockchain assurance and standardization—which is made possible by this partnership—aims to guarantee network interoperability and encourage broad blockchain use.
