Donald Trump NFTs Surge in Value with New ‘Mugshot Edition’ Launch

Donald Trump has launched a new NFT collection named the “Mugshot Edition,” priced at $99 each. This collection, drawing inspiration from Trump’s legal challenges, has led to a significant increase in the value of his previously released NFTs
Trump’s entry into the NFT space began last year with the debut of his Trump Digital Collectible Cards, despite his earlier skepticism about cryptocurrencies during his presidency. Resembling baseball cards, these NFTs featuring images of himself quickly sold out (in one day), as did second series released in April.
The “Mugshot Edition” offers a unique proposition to buyers: those who purchase 47 Trump cards or more – a number symbolizing the possibility of Trump becoming the 47th U.S. president if elected again – will not only get to dine with the former president at his Mar-a-Lago estate but also receive a piece of the suit he wore during his mugshot in August. The NFT project’s website highlights the exclusivity of these cards, stating, “In this Edition, some cards will even be one-of-ones (the only one in the world), while some others could even be hand-signed by President Donald J. Trump.”
Following this announcement, there was a significant fluctuation in the trading prices of Trump’s earlier NFTs. Initially, these tokens were sold for as low as 0.1 ether (ETH), dropping from their pre-announcement value of 0.2 ETH. However, data from the NFT marketplace OpenSea shows that the floor prices soon rebounded to approximately 0.18 ETH.
