Stablecoin issuer Circle and Overdare, a metaverse company backed by Krafton and Naver Z, have joined forces. This collaboration is set to enrich the metaverse with programmable USDC wallets, enhancing the digital experience for creators and users alike. Circle, known for its stablecoin solutions, announced this strategic partnership on February 26. The aim is to integrate Circle’s wallet-as-a-service technology into Overdare, facilitating direct USDC payouts for game content creators on the platform.
Overdare, a venture initiated by game publisher Krafton and Naver Z, focuses on mobile user-generated content. By teaming up with Circle, Overdare plans to provide a more seamless and efficient way for creators to manage their earnings and assets through transparent revenue distribution. This move is geared towards simplifying the shift to web3 platforms for creators, with an emphasis on IP trading and revenue payouts in USDC.
Circle’s CEO, Jeremy Allaire, sees this partnership as a key driver in the evolution of digital entertainment. He believes it will play a crucial role in creating a more innovative Web3 ecosystem. “We believe this partnership will be a catalyst in shaping the future of digital entertainment, ultimately fostering an innovative Web3 environment for all,” said Jeremy Allaire.
Overdare, which was unveiled in September 2023, is developing a mobile game that allows for user-generated content, similar to Roblox. The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and is expected to incorporate artificial intelligence tools to aid content creation, though further details have yet to be revealed. The global launch of Overdare is eagerly anticipated for the second half of 2024.
