Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web 3 company, has announced that Gracy Chen will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in May 2024. She replaces Sandra Lou, who is departing to pursue her own business ventures. With over a decade of experience in business management, marketing, and investment, Gracy is recognized as a prominent female entrepreneur in the crypto space.
Gracy’s interest in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies began in 2014 while working as a TV host. Interacting with industry experts like Tim Draper sparked her fascination, leading her to invest in several crypto startups, including Bitkeep (now Bitget Wallet), Asia’s largest Web 3 multi-chain wallet.
In June 2022, Gracy joined Bitget as its first Managing Director (MD), steering the company’s growth and global expansion. Her leadership and ability to inspire decentralized teams were crucial in Bitget’s success. Under her guidance, Bitget quadrupled its user base, thanks to strategic partnerships with football legend Leo Messi and a strong global affiliate network. These efforts positioned Bitget as a top-five crypto exchange and a leading Web 3 platform.
Vision for the Future
Expressing her excitement about her new role, Gracy said, “I’m extremely honored to step into the role of CEO at Bitget. Over the past six years, with the robust foundation we’ve built and an incredible team by my side, Bitget has transformed into a leading crypto platform. By consistently innovating in product offerings and creating value for our 25 million users, Bitget has risen to become a top 5 futures trading platform and a top 10 spot trading platform. I’m thrilled to continue to be part of shaping this industry that is on the edge of innovation, empowering the future of digital finance. It’s a privilege to lead such a dynamic group and I can’t wait to steer our global expansion to new heights!”
Gracy is a strong advocate for a diverse and inclusive crypto industry. She leads two Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives at Bitget. The #Blockchain4Youth campaign, launched in May 2023, aims to drive Web 3 adoption among the younger generation, benefiting over 6,000 young talents through partnerships with more than 50 educational institutions. Additionally, the #Blockchain4Her initiative promotes gender diversity in the blockchain industry, ensuring equal opportunities and representation for women.

She also serves as a judge on the reality crypto TV show “Killer Whales,” co-created by Hollywood producers, which aims to discover and support promising Web 3 projects. Her achievements include being recognized as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2015 and joining the Forbes Business Council in 2023.
