The FBI’s response has sparked speculation that the bureau could have inside knowledge about Nakamoto’s identity.

The FBI neither confirmed nor denied possessing records related to Nakamoto, issuing a “Glomar response” instead. This type of reply is commonly used by government agencies when they do not wish to disclose whether they have specific information. According to Troy, this ambiguous response suggests that the FBI might indeed know more about Nakamoto than it is willing to reveal.

Troy’s request was broad, aiming to uncover any details the FBI might have on Nakamoto.
