Global investment management company Vaneck has launched a $30 million venture fund targeted at fintech, digital assets, and artificial intelligence (AI) startups in their early stages of development. The fund, known as Vaneck Ventures, invests on pre-seed and seed-stage companies in these quickly expanding industries that are creating disruptive and inventive technology.
Vaneck is looking to diversify its investment portfolio into developing technology, therefore this new endeavor is a sensible step for the corporation. Vaneck intends to invest $500,000 to $1 million in each startup, with a goal total of 25 to 35 enterprises.
Focus on Disruptive Technologies
Vaneck Ventures aims to support startups developing cutting-edge solutions, particularly in blockchain, tokenized assets, and other transformative markets. The asset manager’s move into venture capital builds on its long-standing tradition of identifying high-potential investments, such as its early support for gold and bitcoin (BTC) markets.
Leading this initiative are Wyatt Lonergan and Juan Lopez, two industry veterans who previously worked at Circle Ventures. Their experience in fintech and crypto will help guide the fund’s investments, allowing Vaneck Ventures to capitalize on opportunities in tokenized capital markets, stablecoins, and other emerging financial technologies. While the fund has already made four investments, specific details remain undisclosed.
According to Vaneck, the next wave of financial innovation will be mostly driven by the intersection of AI, fintech, and cryptocurrency. Vaneck Ventures is putting itself at the forefront of financial innovations that are revolutionizing the industry by supporting businesses that create tokenized assets and investigate blockchain solutions.
