U.S. PayPal Users Can Send BTC, ETH, and PYUSD Through Chat Feature

PayPal is rolling out a new peer-to-peer (P2P) feature that lets U.S. users send Bitcoin, Ethereum, and its own PYUSD stablecoin directly through chat, making crypto payments more seamless than ever.

Crypto Integrated Into Conversations

According to PayPal’s announcement, the new update allows one-time crypto payments to be made through PayPal links within chat. The feature will integrate crypto directly into the app’s P2P flow, enabling transfers across both PayPal and Venmo, as well as to third-party wallets that accept digital assets and stablecoins.

PayPal said in a statement:

“The peer-to-peer (P2P) experience is about to go even further. Crypto will soon be directly integrated into PayPal’s new P2P payment flow in the app. This will make it more convenient for PayPal users in the US to send Bitcoin, Ethereum, PYUSD, and more, to PayPal, Venmo, as well as a rapidly growing number of digital wallets across the world that support crypto and stablecoins.” .

Building on PYUSD and PayPal World

The feature also supports PYUSD, PayPal’s USD-pegged stablecoin, which the company launched in 2023. By combining PYUSD with the chat functionality, PayPal aims to make digital payments frictionless, even in casual conversations.
