Franklin Templeton and Animoca Brands announced a collaboration on 9 October to bring tokenized real world assets to NUVA, broadening the vault marketplace beyond Provenance Blockchain assets.
Good To Know
- NUVA launched in May 2026.
- The partnership adds access to a wider range of asset issuers.
- Both firms will explore tokenized cultural assets.
NUVA Adds More Routes To Institutional Assets
Franklin Templeton brings investment management experience to a marketplace that Animoca Brands and Nuva Labs co-incubated. The investment manager held $1.83 trillion in assets under management at the end of August 2026.
Alongside the marketplace agreement, the partners have published a four part research series on institutional tokenization. It examines asset evaluation, portfolio construction and the developments behind wider blockchain adoption.
Sandy Kaul, Head of Digital Assets and Innovation at Franklin Templeton, said:
“Tokenization is moving beyond simply putting traditional assets on blockchain rails. The next phase is about expanding how those assets can be accessed, utilized and integrated into increasingly digital investment ecosystems,”
NUVA initially offered vaults providing access to assets on Provenance Blockchain. That network held more than $30 billion in total value locked as of 24 September 2026. The figure covers the blockchain, rather than NUVA alone.

The new collaboration opens the marketplace to institutional assets from a broader issuer base, connecting traditional investment products with decentralized distribution.
Yat Siu, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands, said:
“By combining battle-tested asset management with decentralized distribution, Nuva is expanding how institutional investors access RWAs.”
The partners also plan to explore the joint design and tokenization of real world cultural assets. They expect to provide further details later in 2026, although the announcement names no specific cultural asset project.
