Investor in non-fungible tokens (NFT) and blockchain gaming, Animoca Brands, has ventured into NFT Fantasy Football after a new collaboration with Low6 and SPORTFIVE.
Low6, the award-winning leader in sports gamification, has collaborated with global sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE and Be Media, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, to deliver an NFT-led Fantasy Football game for the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022, which will take place from December 20 to January 16, 2023.
ONSIDE Fantasy Football will bring the historic ASEAN football championship to life in the Web3 area, making it the first of its type in the Southeast Asian sporting landscape. The digital treasures created and distributed through the ONSIDE collecting platform will be utilized to improve gameplay in Low6’s massively successful UltimateFan franchise.
The revolutionary whitelabel game provides and rewards players with ‘packdrops,’ which reveal footballers and team cards, allowing them to choose lineups for each match. Players will compete on a worldwide contest scoreboard as well as against friends, family, and coworkers in Invitational Private Leagues, with points gained via real-life performances. The newly released NFT collection may be applied to a player’s team to increase their points score.
UltimateFan has already proven to be a great success for Low6, with over 14 million installs to far.
It has published versions for the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, and Jacksonville Jaguars, as well as a World Cup game for Flutter’s Sportsbet brand, which charted as the number one free app in the App Store and the number one top free sport app in the Google Play Store in Australia. At the EGR Awards, the whitelabel game won “Fantasy Product” and “Innovation of the Year,” while Low6 was named “B2B Fantasy & DFS Supplier” at the EGR B2B Awards 2022.
Jamie Mitchell, Low6 CEO, said:
“Animoca are paving the way with building out the metaverse and we’re thrilled to be partnering with them with this innovative fantasy game for the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup. Given the success of UltimateFan, we’re confident that our leading sports game will provide a hugely engaging experience for fans as well as showcasing the value of NFTs within the gaming space.”
Malcolm Thorpe, Managing Director, South East Asia at SPORTFIVE, added:
“We are proud to partner with Low6 to bring about an unparalleled experience for our fans of the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup. By adding an aspect of gamification to ONSIDE, we are able to provide regional fans a new and fun way to engage with the NFT collectibles and grow these groundbreaking digital assets further within the Southeast Asia sporting landscape.”
