With its new Ghost in the Shell x Ukiyo-e NFT collection, the innovative Web3 environment MADworld, backed by metaverse investment firm Animoca Brands, is giving fresh life to the 1995 classic animated cyberpunk thriller “Ghost in the Shell.” The package will comprise 500 digital drops inspired by renowned cinema motifs, as well as a limited-edition Ukiyo-e print.
Each print is a unique, one-of-a-kind art piece made adored because to the defects, distinct textures, shadings, and depths that come from the hand printing method, which dates back to the Edo era of the 1600s. A woodblock will be hand-carved with iconography based on graphics from “Ghost in the Shell” with the assistance of experienced artisans.
“Ghost in the Shell” is an animated film based on Shirow Masamune’s cyberpunk manga. The film chronicles the actions of Public Security Section 9 and its cyborg task force members as they battle computer crimes and cyber-terrorism in a futuristic network society in 2029 AD. Collectors will be able to join the task force now that the famous insignia has been digitized.
MADworld’s Ghost in the Shell x Ukiyo-e Collection retails for $1149 USD as a set. Customers will initially receive an NFT upon purchase, followed by the delivery of Ukiyo-e prints. Customers may use their NFT to gain priority access to the future “Ghost in the Shell” game and metaverse in addition to claiming their distinctive Ukiyo-e prints.
Robert Tran, CEO of MADworld, said:
“Reimagining ‘Ghost in the Shell’ with a Web3 twist is what MADworld is all about – evolving the way fans engage and connect with their favorite properties. ‘Ghost in the Shell’ is a classic manga and anime with a global fanbase, and being able to bring it to the blockchain for a new generation of fans to enjoy as both a digital collectible and museum-worthy work of art makes this collection exceptionally special.”
