Robert Kiyosaki, author of the acclaimed “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, has recently voiced concerns regarding the privacy implications of the Federal Reserve’s forthcoming central bank digital currency (CBDC). Through a post on social media platform X, Kiyosaki stated that the advent of the CBDC will signal an end to privacy and urged investors to prioritize assets like gold, silver, bitcoin, and cash.

However, any immediate concerns might be premature. Last year, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell clarified that they haven’t made a decision to proceed with the CBDC. “We see this as a process of at least a couple of years where we are doing work and building public confidence in our analysis and in our ultimate conclusion,” he pointed out.
In the light of Kiyosaki’s assertions, it’s significant to highlight the cultural impact of his book. “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, co-authored with Sharon Lechter in 1997, secured its position on the New York Times Best Seller List for over six years. Translated into 51 languages and available in 109 countries, the book has sold over 32 million copies, emphasizing Kiyosaki’s broad influence in financial circles.
While Kiyosaki is one of the most notable figures to speak out, he isn’t alone. Recently, the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services endorsed the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act, with 60 Congress members lending their support. Congressman Tom Emmer (R-MN), who introduced the bill, emphasized its focus: “This bill is simple: It halts the efforts of this Administrative State under President Biden from issuing a financial surveillance tool that will undermine the American way of life.” In a similar vein, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz proposed legislation to prevent the Fed from releasing a direct-to-consumer CBDC.
