The Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in Dubai has been provisionally approved for Bybit, the second-biggest cryptocurrency exchange globally. The exchange is able to provide services to institutional, retail, and qualified investors thanks to its license. Even though it is only temporary, Bybit’s path to achieving full operating status in the area is significantly accelerated by this approval.
Bybit demonstrates its dedication to upholding the regulations set forth by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) with this accomplishment. Bybit fulfilled the strict requirements for this provisional license by having cooperative negotiations with VARA. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to adhering to regulations within the expanding blockchain ecosystem in Dubai.
Expansion in Dubai’s Crypto Space
In 2022, Bybit made Dubai its global headquarters and has strengthened its ties within the region. Recently, the company extended its partnership with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and transitioned to an advisory role with the DMCC Crypto Hub. These developments position Bybit as a leading player in Dubai’s Web3 and crypto industry.
Furthermore, Bybit has launched initiatives like the Crypto Content Creator Campus, which will debut in Dubai this November. The company is also a sponsor of the Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA), emphasizing its focus on using blockchain to tackle global challenges.
Helen Liu, Bybit’s Chief Operating Officer, expressed excitement about the company’s Dubai prospects, stating, “Dubai’s strategic location, progressive policies, and innovation-driven environment offer unparalleled opportunities for businesses and investors in the cryptocurrency sector.”
