Chinese Insurance Titan Partners with Swiss Crypto Bank AMINA

Together with the Swiss cryptocurrency bank AMINA, China’s largest state-backed insurance company CPIC will provide full banking and financial advice services throughout the Asia Pacific area. The goal of this alliance is to strengthen CPIC’s position in the quickly expanding cryptocurrency market.

AMINA Group, formerly known as SEBA Bank, is working with CPIC Investment Management (CPICIMHK), the Hong Kong-based affiliate of China Pacific Insurance Group (CPIC). Through this collaborative partnership, AMINA’s experience will be utilized to offer comprehensive solutions for the Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Funds.

In a recent press release, AMINA stated that the partnership would allow CPICIMHK to offer both investment advisory and banking services, tailored specifically for virtual asset investment products. “This partnership underscores CPICIMHK’s commitment to innovation and diversification in the financial sector,” the release read.

Focus on Digital Asset Funds

The Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Fund I is dedicated to supporting early-stage blockchain startups, providing essential capital for their growth. Meanwhile, the Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Fund II focuses on proof-of-stake tokens, promoting investment in energy-efficient and secure digital assets.

CPICIMHK CEO Chenggang Zhou emphasized the collaborative nature of the partnership: “Our firm will advise on crypto investment opportunities, while AMINA will facilitate on/off-ramping, crypto trading, and custodial services.”

With this action, CPICIMHK continues to grow its presence in the cryptocurrency space. The company first entered the sector in Q2 2023 by launching crypto funds in collaboration with Waterdrip Capital. The future use of Waterdrip’s services by CPICIMHK is yet unclear, but their recent relationship with AMINA shows a strong commitment to innovation and diversification in the financial industry.
