China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK) has launched LinkNFT, Hong Kong’s first NFT marketplace operated by a telecom company. This move aligns with the successful growth of their smart living mobile app, MyLink, which boasts over seven million users.
LinkNFT aims to revolutionize digital asset management for businesses. It provides NFT minting services that support SocialFi, DeFi, and GameFi applications. The platform is built on a trio of cross-chain standards: the web3 Center cross-chain service protocol, a cross-chain adapter, and a cross-chain smart contract, ensuring easy interoperability in the web3 space. Hong Kong residents can now manage Ethereum-based assets like those on Opensea through MyLink’s exclusive digital wallet, “LinKey.”
The marketplace has already seen collaborations across various sectors, launching over 30 NFTs. These include 20 commemorative editions from the MyLink ArLink series and 15 NFTs in partnership with publishers and music platforms such as Migu Music. The total NFT count on LinkNFT is expected to surpass 500,000.
Furthermore, MyLink’s Metaverse digital space has been enhanced to offer a 3D immersive experience. This upgrade allows Hong Kong citizens to build their digital homes and explore a virtual city with amenities like shopping malls and exhibition halls. It also enables the conversion of Meta IDs into NFTs, fostering a unique digital community in the web3 world.
Mr. Tan Hui, Executive Director of MyLink, has said that the launch will enable businesses to offer new consumer rights through various NFTs, while users can enjoy the benefits of collectible and circulation value.
