The first Web3 game for NFT animal friends, DOGAMÍ , has finished a $14 million seed round with a $7 million seed extension spearheaded by European technology investor XAnge.
The $7 million seed extension was headed by Berlin and Paris-based VC company XAnge, with participation from Bpifrance, a French public investment bank, Blockchain Founders Fund, Wagram Capital, and other family offices. DOGAM secured an initial $6 million from industry giants such as Ubisoft, Animoca Brands, The Sandbox co-founders, Draper Goren Holm, Tezos, GSR, and many more in January 2022.
DOGAMÍ was able to sell 12,000 NFTs of dog avatars and 12,000 NFTs of canine accessories in collaboration with the multinational brand GAP thanks to the initial funding. DOGAM has established one of the most committed Web3 communities with over 200,000 dog lovers in less than a year. DOGAMÍ draws community members – “Dogamers” – from 80+ countries who are diverse in gender and age, with an average age of 30 years.
The $DOGA coin may be used to purchase or resell NFT avatars and accessories, as well as to participate in DOGAM world events. $DOGA owners may be able to use it in the future to swap tangible clothing, accessories, or tickets to live and virtual events.
DOGAMÍ now has 12,000 distinct virtual NFT partners available in four rarity categories. So far, fifteen Dogam breeds have been produced, including the well-known Shiba Inu, Corgi, and Australian Shepherd. In 2023, new breeds will be introduced. Dogam owners will be able to produce new virtual friends thanks to an innovative breeding function. DOGAM anticipates that its community members will breed up to 100,000 distinct Dogam NFTs by the end of 2023.
DOGAMÍ intends to deliver more features and upgrades in the next months, such as the personalization of Dogam avatars with branded items, the development of the gaming environment, new animations and interactions, augmented reality, mini-games, and contests amongst Dogamers.
Max Stöckl, DOGAMÍ Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer, said:
