Dubai Customs Strengthens Digital Payment Plans With Binance

Dubai Customs announced on Dec. 7 that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Binance to support new blockchain-enabled customs processes and digital payment frameworks. The agreement reflects the emirate broader focus on modernizing trade systems and integrating advanced financial technologies across its commercial infrastructure.

Dubai Customs And Binance Partner To Advance Blockchain Trade Infrastructure
In its statement, Dubai Customs noted that the MoU represents a new phase in expanding digital payment solutions by integrating crypto-assets into commercial and logistical activity. The initiative is designed to support a more agile trade environment through blockchain-driven automation and improved settlement pathways.
His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said the partnership fits within Dubai strategic vision for advanced financial technology:
“Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a key player in the global digital economy,” he said, emphasizing that the collaboration aligns with the emirate ambitions in fintech and smart payments.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Busenad explained the agency long-term transformation goals, stating:
“This agreement reflects our strategy to accelerate comprehensive digital transformation and redefine customs procedures to be smarter and aligned with the global economy.”
Binance CEO Richard Teng also described the partnership as a platform for building new tools for the trade sector. He said the entities will “jointly launch innovative solutions capable of making a tangible difference in the customs sector locally and globally.”
The agreement aims to streamline import–export processes, reduce operational costs, increase transparency through blockchain systems and improve efficiency for SMEs. Dubai Customs said the collaboration is expected to encourage new investment and further establish the emirate role in shaping digital trade infrastructure that supports cross-border activity.
