The multi-chain NFT marketplace and launchpad Hyperspace has made the decision to shut down its Solana platform. The initiative made the painful decision to close on September 3 and made it clear that it was not taken lightly. By September 17, 2024, Hyperspace will completely stop selling Solana, and as a result, users are asked to delist their NFTs before then.
Hyperspace is also going to stop supporting Solana NFTs on its website and will no longer be providing its application programming interface (API). In a post on X, the Hyperspace team announced that this phase-out will start on September 17.
Reflecting on the journey, the team stated, “While it’s a difficult decision to make, we’re proud of having been a part of this vibrant ecosystem since Solana summer first started and we’re excited for all that’s to come.”
Hyperspace’s Journey and Expansion to Other Chains
Launched in 2021, Hyperspace entered the market during the NFT boom that followed the Covid pandemic. The platform quickly gained momentum, backed by some of the most prominent crypto venture capital firms, including Dragonfly, Pantera, and Coinbase Ventures.
Even with the NFT market slump in late 2021 and early 2022, Hyperspace kept growing. But in a move that suggests a strategic change of direction, the company is also ending its services on the Sui blockchain.

Even though Hyperspace is getting ready to shut down its Solana activities, the platform is still dedicated to helping other blockchain ecosystems like Avalanche. Even as they say goodbye to Solana, the crew is excited about what lies ahead and the new paths the business will pursue.
With this shutdown, Hyperspace on Solana, a platform that had flourished during the NFT boom, comes to an end. In order to guarantee a seamless departure from the Solana ecosystem, users are urged to act prior to the deadline on September 17.
