A terrifying kidnapping attempt unfolded in Paris when four masked men tried to abduct the daughter and grandson of Paymium co-founder Pierre Noizat in broad daylight. The attackers failed, but the incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of crypto executives and their families in France.
Good to know
- The woman fought back and disarmed one of the attackers.
- The incident happened on a public street in central Paris during the day.
- It follows multiple recent attacks targeting people linked to the crypto industry.
Security footage showed three masked men jumping out of a white delivery van to force the woman and her child into the vehicle. Her partner, who was also present, was assaulted while trying to intervene. The attackers beat him as they attempted to push the woman and child into the van.
She refused to give in. Instead, she managed to grab one of their handguns and throw it out of reach. That bold move disrupted the plan, creating enough confusion for bystanders to get involved.
One passerby grabbed a fire extinguisher and rushed toward the scene, helping to scare the assailants off. The attackers quickly fled the scene in the same van they had arrived in.

The victims were later taken to a hospital for treatment.
This is not the first time a crypto-related figure has been targeted in the country. In January, kidnappers abducted David Balland, co-founder of crypto wallet company Ledger, along with his wife. The attackers demanded a ransom in cryptocurrency. Authorities successfully rescued the couple, and suspects, including the alleged leader, are now in custody.
Another case occurred just last month when masked men kidnapped the father of a crypto millionaire in Paris. The attackers asked for a ransom, but police were able to locate the building where he was being held and freed him during a raid.
