Michael Saylor Advocates for Bitcoin Investment in Microsoft Board Proposal

Michael Saylor, the chairman of MicroStrategy, has promised to support Bitcoin investment before the Microsoft board of directors. Michael Saylor disclosed his forthcoming three-minute presentation at a VanEck-hosted X Spaces event on Nov. 19.
“The activist that put that proposal together contacted me to present to the board, and I agreed to provide a three-minute presentation — that’s all you’re allowed,” Saylor shared. This initiative aims to highlight Bitcoin’s potential to strengthen Microsoft’s financial strategy.
Previously, Saylor suggested a private meeting with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to explore the topic. However, that proposal was declined. Undeterred, Saylor expressed his intent to proceed: “You will see me putting together the three-minute proposal for Microsoft […], and we’ll send it to the board.”
Bitcoin as a Strategic Asset
Saylor’s push for Bitcoin aligns with his broader advocacy for cryptocurrency adoption among major corporations. He has consistently argued that Bitcoin offers stability and enhances shareholder value.
The activist proposal stems from the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR). It highlights MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin-focused strategy, noting its stock outperformed Microsoft’s by over 300% in 2024, despite having a much smaller business.

Microsoft’s board, however, recommended voting against the proposal, citing their ongoing evaluation of “a wide range of investable assets,” including Bitcoin.
