Revolut Teams Up with Ledger Live to Simplify Crypto Access in Europe

Revolut and Ledger have announced a strategic agreement that would allow Revolut’s app to be integrated into Ledger Live, making bitcoin purchases easier for customers in a few European Economic Area (EEA) nations. An important step in Revolut’s continuous entry into the cryptocurrency sector has been taken with this partnership.

Revolut customers in the European Economic Area (EEA) may now purchase cryptocurrencies straight through Ledger Live, a well-known tool that assists cryptocurrency investors in managing their portfolios. Revolut’s European customers will have easier access to cryptocurrency transactions thanks to this agreement, according to a press statement dated August 14.

Existing Revolut users who have completed the Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process can immediately start purchasing cryptocurrencies without additional verification. New users can also access this service after completing the KYC process using Visa or Mastercard. Revolut’s general manager of crypto, Emil Urmanshin, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating it is the “next step in our mission to help people onboard to web3.”

Revolut’s Growing Crypto Ambitions

This partnership with Ledger is the latest move in Revolut’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the crypto space. The company has been gradually expanding its cryptocurrency services, most notably with the phased introduction of Revolut X, its own crypto exchange. Initially, Revolut X was offered exclusively to professional traders, featuring a fiat-to-crypto switch with zero fees for makers and a 0.09% fee for takers.

In 2021, Revolut embarked on its cryptocurrency journey by preparing to launch its own cryptocurrency exchange. The neobank, located in London, took this initiative. With a current valuation of $25.7 billion as of April, the company has expanded quickly and now serves over 30 million clients globally with crypto services. Revolut is committed to growing its cryptocurrency services, as seen by the fact that consumers may access over 50 different tokens through this service.
