Salsa Secures $2M in Pre-Seed Funding Round and Launches Mobile App

Salsa, a web3-native messaging platform that lets users discover and interact with relevant people and companies, has launched its mobile app into public beta following a $2 million pre-seed round.
What is Salsa Mobile App?
The new Salsa mobile application assists web3 users in making meaningful relationships by incorporating social proof from on-chain data with wallet-native messaging. While web3 users generate important data on-chain, they presently converse on web2 services like as Telegram and Discord, which do not interpret the data natively. As a result, the user experience is fragmented, and impersonation schemes are common.
Salsa’s wallet-based login validates on-chain ownership and identifies user similarities. Integrating web3 data and message is not only beneficial for people trying to improve their networking, but it is also necessary for marketers looking to truly engage their audience. NFTs are the future of CRM, and Salsa guarantees that they lead to connections rather than simply insights
Salsa on POAP
Salsa is thrilled to announce the start of its public test with POAP, the most popular web3 protocol for minting digital goods based on real-life events. POAP gives comprehensive insights on a user’s web3 interests and is utilized by businesses like as Adidas, Ebay, Goldman Sachs, and Vogue to mint digital artifacts that symbolize attendance at an event, engaging with other people, and providing proof of contribution. Salsa makes it simple to create and claim POAPs directly from the Salsa app, and it has also created a direct integration with the POAP mobile app.
Salsa, founded in June 2022 by Grace Wang and Helena Gagern, recently raised a $2 million pre-seed round led by IDEO CoLab VC and Inflection.xyz, with participation from Superscrypt and angels such as Nader Al-Naji, Gmoney, Liam Horne, Dan Romero, Balaji Srinivasan, Henri Stern, Khan Tasinga, Wieland Holfelder, and Patricio Worthalter.
Patricio Worthalter, founder of POAP and investor in Salsa, said:
“Since POAP was conceived in 2018, we dreamt about a communications system that abides by the core principles of web3: trustlessness, credible neutrality, self-sovereignty and immutability. We look forward to build the paradigm of peer-to-peer chat for the next generation with the Salsa team.”
Helena Gagern, cofounder and CEO of Salsa, added:
“Salsa focuses on non-financial assets that turn Ethereum addresses into people to meet. Our mission is to show web3 users the human side of web3, that isn’t focused on financial speculation.”
