Strike Is Bringing Bitcoin Lightning Payments to 65 Countries

The Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami Beach, Florida, made a momentous revelation that would transform the future of bitcoin transactions. Strike CEO Jack Mallers disclosed intentions for the Bitcoin-centric payment startup to expand its app services to over 65 countries, a considerable expansion from its existing operations in the United States and El Salvador.

Bitcoin and Lightning for Global Transactions

Strike’s app is the first to use Bitcoin with Lightning, an auxiliary network that allows for cheaper and faster Bitcoin transactions. Global payment and cross-border money transfer services are among the key solutions, which are revolutionizing how consumers and corporations conduct their financial operations. The upgraded Strike app also features a redesigned user interface and the ability to save funds in Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT).

This expansion propels Strike into an even more significant role within the cryptocurrency market. The move aims to broaden its potential user base to nearly 3 billion individuals, a testament to the app’s widespread appeal and utility.

Enhancing User Experience

Manuela Rios, Strike’s vice president of product, emphasized the importance of high-quality design for their users, stating, “If you are in the United States the apps are gorgeous; there’s a really high bar for design.” Unfortunately, she noted, this is often not the case with apps downloaded abroad. Strike is committed to overcoming this hurdle and ensuring its users across the globe enjoy the same superior app experience.
