Telegram Announces 50% Ad Revenue Sharing via TON

With the announcement of intentions for ad income sharing with broadcast channel producers, Telegram founder Pavel Durov made a major step toward encouraging content development and community interaction.
Advertisers from around a hundred more countries will be able to access the Telegram Ad Platform starting in March. 50% of the money made from advertisements that are shown on these areas’ channels will go to the channel owners.
Durov claims that even though his content generates a staggering one trillion views each month, only about 10% of this traffic is being made money.
Blockchain Integration for Payment Processing
Highlighting the integration of the TON blockchain, Durov emphasized its role as the exclusive payment rail for ad revenue sharing. TON blockchain, certified by Certik in November, has demonstrated impressive scalability and speed, clocking over 104,000 transactions per second in a public test.
This integration is expected to facilitate swift and secure Toncoin (TON) payments for creators. Following the announcement, TON witnessed a surge of over 20%, as reported by CoinMarketCap data.

In order to create a mutually beneficial environment, Durov envisions a cycle in which content providers have the option of cashing out their Toncoins or reinvesting them in channel marketing and improvement.
Although X and Telegram are not the only platforms that have implemented revenue sharing, Durov’s idea is noteworthy due to its 50% bitcoin split payment structure.
While other platforms, such as Elon Musk’s app, purportedly keep a greater part of ad profits and pay creators in fiat money through Stripe, Telegram’s strategy gives creators a more meaningful proportion of ad income.
This revenue-sharing model, which Telegram is leading the way in, is a big step in the direction of empowering content producers and encouraging community involvement on the network.
