Telegram Introduces Revenue Sharing System for Channel Owners

With the launch of its innovative revenue-sharing program, Telegram is providing channel owners with a never-before-seen chance to profit from their content. This creative scheme, hailed as one of the most generous incentive programs in social media history, was revealed by Telegram in a recent blog post.
Empowering Content Creators
Channel owners can earn a sizeable 50% of the money from commercials that are shown on their channels as a result of this arrangement. Public channels that have 1,000 or more subscribers are able to participate in this revenue-sharing arrangement as of right now. By giving them a material reward for their contributions to the platform, Telegram hopes to empower content producers.
This initiative is made feasible through a new ad format introduced by Telegram, which can be purchased using Toncoin (TON). The platform emphasizes transparency and user privacy by ensuring that ads are not based on individual user data but rather on the specific channel in which they appear. As Telegram puts it, “Telegram ads are not based on user data. They depend only on the channel in which you see them – and they directly benefit channel owners.”
Although the scheme offers channel owners financial incentives, there are still some questions. It’s unclear if income sharing is just applicable to ads purchased using TONs or if it also covers ads purchased with fiat money. Telegram makes clues about the placement of TON-purchased advertisements within particular channels, which may indicate a difference in income distribution according to the type of advertisement.
