With the 2024 U.S. election approaching, former President Trump is aiming to secure support from the crypto community. According to Axios, Trump is in discussions to speak at the Bitcoin 2024 convention, scheduled from July 25th to 27th, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Bitcoin Magazine’s Bitcoin 2024 event is the largest BTC gathering of the year. The event occurs immediately after the Republican National Convention. Notably, it was at the Bitcoin 2020 event in Miami that El Salvador announced its plan to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender.
Axios, citing two sources familiar with the development, reported that Trump is considering this event as a platform to solidify his Bitcoin stance. This move comes amid growing perceptions in the crypto industry that Trump is becoming more crypto-friendly. Comparatively, Biden’s administration is seen as “not good” for the industry.
Meeting with Bitcoin Miners
Earlier this month, Trump met with leading Bitcoin miners in the U.S. After the meeting, he emphasized that all remaining BTC should be mined domestically. During a recent rally, Trump declared, “I will end Joe Biden’s war on crypto. We will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in America.”
This announcement highlights Trump’s strategic move to align with the crypto community, contrasting his approach with that of the current administration. By speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 event, Trump could make a significant statement about his support for the cryptocurrency industry.
