UK Parliamentarian Urges Government to Embrace Blockchain

UK Member of Parliament Natalie Elphicke made a strong case for action, stressing that the UK government must move quickly to adopt blockchain technology. The impassioned plea was delivered during a gathering in the House of Commons’ revered Thames Pavilion.

Elphicke, who serves as the chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain Technologies, emphasized how critical it is that the UK take the lead in the world in utilizing blockchain technology. Embracing the Power of Blockchain

Elphicke believes that the blockchain industry has enormous potential. She sees it being used to improve transparency in international supply chains and to leverage it for data-related and digital identity objectives. Her demand for action is in line with a worldwide trend, as other nations are actively working to amend their legal systems to allow for the use of blockchain technology.

While the Deploying American Blockchains Act was just unanimously approved by the US House of Representatives, Belgium has been leading the way in advancing European blockchain infrastructure. Elphicke fervently pleaded on the UK to follow the lead of global authorities and cooperate with other countries on blockchain-related issues.

Elphicke emphasized that the UK must not lag behind in the global momentum surrounding blockchain technology. Drawing attention to the legislative strides made by the US and the infrastructure boost announced by Belgium, she stressed the necessity for the UK to keep pace with international regulators.
