One of the United Arab Emirates (UAE)\u2019s leading airlines, Emirates Airline, said it has plans to add \u201cbitcoin as a payment service.\u201d The airline is planning to recruit personnel to create applications that monitor client needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two Different Applications and Approaches<\/h2>\n

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)\u2019s leading airline, Emirates Airline, will soon embrace \u201cbitcoin as a payment service,\u201d the company\u2019s chief operating officer (COO) Adel Ahmed Al-Redha has said. In addition, the airline will add non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles on its webpage.<\/p>\n

Reports of the airline\u2019s plan to embrace bitcoin come just a few weeks after it revealed its NFT and metaverse plans. As reported<\/a> by Bitcoin.com News, the company\u2019s goal with the metaverse launch is to ensure the airline is \u201caligned with the UAE\u2019s vision for the digital economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

In remarks<\/a> published in Arab News, Al Redha hinted that his company may have to recruit employees to assist it in creating applications which monitor customer needs. He also spoke of the differences between NFTs and the metaverse. He explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cNFTs and metaverse are two different applications and approaches. With the metaverse, you will be able to transform your whole processes \u2014 whether it is in operation, training, sales on the website, or complete experience \u2014 into a metaverse type application, but more importantly making it interactive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The report did not state when the airline expects to launch its bitcoin payment service.<\/p>\n
