Amid the market carnage, bitcoin\u2019s market dominance has increased to 43.8%, reaching the highest value since October 30, 2021. Moreover, ethereum\u2019s market dominance has slid from 19.56% on April 16, to today\u2019s 17.1%.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin Dominance Reaps Rewards from Terra\u2019s Demise<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/BTC\/\">Bitcoin (BTC)<\/a> dominance among the 13,445 crypto market caps in existence today is 43.8%, the highest it has been in roughly 209 days, since October 30, 2021. The rise in market dominance follows the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/the-lunatic-movement-a-look-at-terra-lunas-inception-and-the-people-that-helped-do-kwon-rise\/\">Terra blockchain fiasco<\/a> that caused a significant amount of value to leave the crypto economy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, amid LUNA\u2019s and UST\u2019s death spiral and the crypto market carnage on May 10, 2022, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220510002143\/https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">archived data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> indicates <a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/BTC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BTC<\/a> dominance was 39.4%, while <a href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/ETH\/\">ethereum (ETH)<\/a> dominance was 18.4%.
