In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/september-7-bitcoinday-in-el-salvador\/\">September<\/a> 2021, El Salvador was the first to embrace <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/section\/what-is-a-bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a>, under leadership of its \u2018Bitcoin President\u2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/nayib-bukele-predicts-two-more-countries-to-make-bitcoin-legal-tender-in-2022\/\">Nayib Bukele<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The president made the announcement on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FA_Touadera\/status\/1541402144078716929\">Twitter<\/a> where he clarified that his government is introducing a new crypto program, Sango, at a July 3 event, where cabinet members and industry experts are coming together to discuss the country\u2019s crypto readiness by zooming in on the physical and digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the highlights of the Sango project includes creating a \u201clegal crypto hub\u201d to attract businesses and global crypto-enthusiasts, strengthening the country\u2019s Bitcoin footprint, and the creation of a physical and virtual \u201ccrypto island\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>President Touad\u00e9ra said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe ambitious strategy to quickly build a successful economy can only rely on new technologies that have taken the world by storm and taken money to another level, with Bitcoin as a watchword.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Central African Republic plans to have a\u00a0dedicated legal framework for cryptocurrencies\u00a0ready by the end of 2022.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/central-african-republic-plans-a-crypto-hub-and-crypto-island\/\">Source link <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org ) President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touad\u00e9ra, has announced the government is launching an initiative centered around developing the country\u2019s blockchain infrastructure.
