It will be adding a \u201cdigital collectibles\u201d tab on creators\u2019 timelines to display their work.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the official announcement, Meta technical program manager Navdeep Singh already shared some <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/navdeep_ua\/status\/1542291276883582979\">screenshots of NFTs and a creator\u2019s page<\/a> to his Twitter followers on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A Meta spokesperson commented that the launch of NFTs on Facebook will be a gradual process with select creators in the United States first being able to avail of the new feature to express themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately\u00a0NFT creators will have the option to cross-post\u00a0between Facebook and Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, last week Instagram expanded its NFT trial from the U.S. to international users, The platform allows NFTs minted on Ethereum and Polygon to be displayed and is working on supporting the Solana and Flow blockchains as well.<\/p>\n<p>Meta\u00a0started testing <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/mark-zuckerberg-kicks-off-instagrams-nft-integration-pilot\/\">NFTs on Instagram<\/a> in May. CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/mark-zuckerberg-on-the-metaverse\/\">Mark Zuckerberg<\/a> said that Facebook would be next \u201csoon\u201d and that \u00a0other Meta-owned apps, such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, will also be upgraded with NFT display capabilities in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook rebranded as Meta in October 2021 in an effort to expand in Web3.\u00a0Recent filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, or USPTO, on May 13, showed Meta\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tsdr.uspto.gov\/#caseNumber=97409240&amp;caseType=SERIAL_NO&amp;searchType=statusSearch\">filed<\/a>\u00a0five applications for a platform called Meta Pay.
