{"id":13104,"date":"2022-07-02T07:22:58","date_gmt":"2022-07-02T07:22:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/vaneck-gives-spot-bitcoin-etf-another-shot-and-files-anew\/"},"modified":"2022-07-02T07:22:58","modified_gmt":"2022-07-02T07:22:58","slug":"vaneck-gives-spot-bitcoin-etf-another-shot-and-files-anew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/vaneck-gives-spot-bitcoin-etf-another-shot-and-files-anew\/","title":{"rendered":"VanEck Gives Spot Bitcoin ETF Another Shot and Files Anew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org )<\/b><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Global Investment manager VanEck\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.cboe.com\/resources\/regulation\/rule_filings\/pending\/2022\/SR-CboeBZX-2022-035.pdf\">has filed<\/a>\u00a0a new application for a spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes just eight months after the <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/vanecks-spot-bitcoin-etf-rejected-by-sec\/\">SEC rejected<\/a> VanEck\u2019s previous application and just a day after the Grayscale and Bitwise applications got <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/grayscales-spot-bitcoin-etf-application-rejected-by-sec\/\">snubbed<\/a> by the US regulator.<\/p>\n<p>In all its rejections, the SEC has cited concerns about related to firms\u2019 ability to prevent market manipulation and protect investors.<\/p>\n<p>VanEck\u2019s newest filing said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSpot commodities and currency markets for which it has previously approved spot ETPs are generally unregulated and that the Commission relied on underlying futures market as the regulated market of significant size that formed the basis for approving the series of Currency and Commodity-Based Trust Shares, including gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper, and other commodities and currencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A spot bitcoin ETF is made up of <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/section\/what-is-a-bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a> or assets related to Bitcoin\u2019s price.
