Nevertheless its fundamentals are strong and a bright future is looming.<\/p>\n<p>The former emerging markets investor at banking giant Morgan Stanley is expecting <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/section\/what-is-a-bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a> to make a comeback just <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/bitcoin-still-an-early-adoption-technology-like-amazon-anthony-scaramucci-says\/\">like that of e-commerce giant Amazon<\/a>, which shares tanked about 90% in the early-2000s but since rose more than 300 times in value.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with crypto news outlet CoinDesk, Sharma said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need the excesses to get weeded out. And then we can see the emergence once again of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, as a steadier asset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, \u00a0he said, currently Bitcoin is \u201ccaught up in this speculative mania.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sharma added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe dependence on the U.S. dollar in general cannot continue \u2026 There is a need for having another currency out there with some transactional need, which is a bit more stable in value \u2026 Three to five years from now, hopefully [bitcoin] will emerge as a more stable asset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Noting that the speculative excess needs to clear, the Rockefeller Chairman explained:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not willing to call the [market] bottom as of yet on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
