{"id":13421,"date":"2022-08-02T07:47:39","date_gmt":"2022-08-02T07:47:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/anything-facebook-creates-now-will-misfire\/"},"modified":"2022-08-02T07:47:39","modified_gmt":"2022-08-02T07:47:39","slug":"anything-facebook-creates-now-will-misfire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/anything-facebook-creates-now-will-misfire\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Anything Facebook Creates Now Will Misfire&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org )<\/b><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>On Saturday, <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/ethereum-alternative-coin\/\">Ethereum<\/a> founder <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/ethereums-vitalik-buterin-in-times-top-100-list\/\">Vitalik Buterin<\/a> discussed the Metaverse after sharing a tweet from Dialektik co-founder and blockchain auditor Dean Eigenmann, who said he that the Metaverse\u2019s potential is not as big as venture capitalist actually like to believe, as shown by their financial backings this year.<\/p>\n<p>Buterin who agrees with Eigenmann\u2019s views, reposted the tweet and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/1553526863783657472\">added<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe \u2018metaverse\u2019 is going to happen, but I don\u2019t think any of the existing corporate attempts to intentionally create the metaverse are going anywhere.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Since it has gone up, Buterin\u2019s Metaverse tweet already passed 10,000 likes and go more than 1,600 retweets.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, in response to a comment, Buterin said that it is yet way too early to really be able to envision what the \u2018metaverse\u2019 entails and turned to Facebook:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s that we don\u2019t really know the definition of \u2018the metaverse\u2019 yet, it\u2019s far too early to know what people actually want. So anything Facebook creates now will misfire.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cMy critique is deeper than \u2018Metaverse Wikipedia will beat Metaverse Encyclopedia Britannica,\u2019\u201d<\/em> the Ethereum chief added.<\/p>\n<p>So far, Facebook\u2019s parent company Meta has\u00a0put a lot of resources\u00a0into\u00a0metaverse concepts. Nevertheless, its metaverse division, Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), founded in 2021, booked <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/meta-loses-10-2-billion-on-its-metaverse-operations-in-2021\/\">$10.2 billion<\/a> in losses for the first calendar year. During the first two quarters of 2022, FRL <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/meta-again-loses-billions-on-metaverse-operations-in-q2\/\">reported<\/a> losses of $2.96 billion and $2.81 billion on metaverse operations.
