{"id":13445,"date":"2022-08-08T01:16:14","date_gmt":"2022-08-08T01:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/blackrock-and-coinbase-bring-crypto-trading-to-elite-clients\/"},"modified":"2022-08-08T01:16:14","modified_gmt":"2022-08-08T01:16:14","slug":"blackrock-and-coinbase-bring-crypto-trading-to-elite-clients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/blackrock-and-coinbase-bring-crypto-trading-to-elite-clients\/","title":{"rendered":"BlackRock and Coinbase Bring Crypto Trading to Elite Clients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org )<\/b><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Nasdaq traded crypto exchange Coinbase and the world\u2019s biggest asset manager, BlackRock, with over $8.5 trillion under management, have teamed up to to make cryptocurrencies directly available to large institutional investors.<\/p>\n<p>According to a company <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.coinbase.com\/coinbase-selected-by-blackrock-provide-aladdin-clients-access-to-crypto-trading-and-custody-via-b9e7144f313d\">blogpost<\/a> on Thursday, institutional clients of BlackRock\u2019s end-to-end investment management platform, Aladdin\u00ae (short for \u201cAsset, Liability, Debt and Derivative Investment Network\u201d), will get direct access to crypto, starting with <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/section\/what-is-a-bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a>, by connecting with Coinbase Prime<\/p>\n<p>BlackRock\u2019s Aladdin currently has more than 200 institutional clients, which include major insurers, pensions, corporations, asset managers, banks and official institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Chalom, BlackRock global head of strategic ecosystem partnerships, said in the announcement:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOur institutional clients are increasingly interested in gaining exposure to digital asset markets and are focused on how to efficiently manage the operational lifecycle of these assets.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis connectivity with Aladdin will allow clients to manage their bitcoin exposures directly in their existing portfolio management and trading workflows for a whole portfolio view of risk across asset classes.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When the news broke, COIN shares jumped by over 30% after which trading got halted temporarily citing \u2018volatility\u2019, ending the day with 10% gains.<\/p>\n<p>BlackRock offering crypto trading services to its elite clientele is something that has been long expected.
