{"id":13580,"date":"2022-08-17T01:35:53","date_gmt":"2022-08-17T01:35:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/crypto-com-gets-approval-from-uk-financial-regulator\/"},"modified":"2022-08-17T01:35:53","modified_gmt":"2022-08-17T01:35:53","slug":"crypto-com-gets-approval-from-uk-financial-regulator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/crypto-com-gets-approval-from-uk-financial-regulator\/","title":{"rendered":"Crypto.com Gets Approval from UK Financial Regulator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org )<\/b><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has been given approval to operate in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>The Singapore headquartered digital asset firm was given a license by the UK\u2019s Financial Conduct Authority, the updated register of the British regulator revealed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the register, Crypto.com is mentioned in two registrations under \u2018FORIS DAX UK LIMITED\u2019 confirming that the firm has been approved for \u201ccertain cryptoasset activities\u201d from August 16 onwards.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto.com and the FCA have not yet officially commented on the news, but are expected to share more information on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto.com has over 50 million users worldwide and is the <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/crypto-com-becomes-fifa-world-cup-qatar-2022-official-sponsor\/\">official sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar<\/a>. It recently got the green light to operate in <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/crypto-com-receives-licence-to-offer-services-in-italy\/\">Italy<\/a>, Greece and Singapore, while back in March it opened an office in Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>It has been a long battle for the exchange who since its launch in 2016 has fiercely been competing with crypto exchanges such as <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/binance\/\">Binance<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/ftx\/\">FTX<\/a> to capture international market share.<\/p>\n<p>The company has been agressively making a name for itself, as shown in the multiple mega partnership deals it has signed in the last year. In June 2021, Crypto.com agreed a <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/a-175-million-deal-with-crypto-com-does-it-for-the-ufc\/\">$175 million deal<\/a>\u00a0with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The exchange had already\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/crypto-com-signs-100-million-deal-with-formula-one\/\">secured<\/a> a $100\u00a0 million deal with Formula One Racing and in November of 2021 it <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/la-staples-center-rebranded-to-crypto-com-arena-in-700-million-deal\/\">purchased naming rights<\/a>\u00a0to the historic Staples Center in Los Angeles, in a deal worth $700 million, which is now rebranded to \u201cCrypto.com Arena.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NBA Legend <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/crypto-com-adds-lebron-james-to-its-roster-in-a-multi-year-deal\/\">Lebron James<\/a> was also taken on board to be the firms new face joining <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/southpark-crushes-matt-damons-crypto-com-ad-in-season-opening\/\">Matt Damon<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/crypto-com-launches-100m-campaign-starring-matt-damon\/\">\u2018Fortune Favors the Brave\u2019<\/a>\u00a0advertisement campaign.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/crypto-com-gets-approval-from-uk-financial-regulator\/\">Source link <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org ) Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has been given approval to operate in the United Kingdom.
