{"id":14190,"date":"2022-10-30T03:50:03","date_gmt":"2022-10-30T03:50:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/visa-working-on-digital-wallet-and-nfts-new-trademark-applications-show\/"},"modified":"2022-10-30T03:50:03","modified_gmt":"2022-10-30T03:50:03","slug":"visa-working-on-digital-wallet-and-nfts-new-trademark-applications-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/visa-working-on-digital-wallet-and-nfts-new-trademark-applications-show\/","title":{"rendered":"VISA Working on Digital Wallet and NFTs, New Trademark Applications Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org )<\/b><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Global payments firm <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino\/visa\/\">Visa<\/a> has filed two trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) concerning digital wallets, non-fungible tokens, and the metaverse.<\/p>\n<p>The applications were filed on October 22nd, after the filing of similar documents by numerous significant corporations, including <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/american-express-to-launch-crypto-rewards-credit-card-this-year\/\">American Express<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/new-york-stock-exchange-to-offer-nft-trading\/\">New York Stock Exchange<\/a>, throughout the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>One of the applications concerns trademarks related to software  for \u201cmanagement of digital transactions; use as a digital currency wallet and storage services software; use as a cryptocurrency wallet; and managing and verifying cryptocurrency transactions using blockchain technology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A second application is related to \u201cproviding temporary use of non-downloadable software for users to view, access, store, monitor, manage, trade, send, receive, transmit, and exchange digital currency, virtual currency, cryptocurrency, digital and blockchain assets, and non-fungible tokens (NFT).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, VISA had a patent application, described \u2018Digital Fiat Currency\u2019 to produce digital money on a centralized computer using blockchain technology, approved.<\/p>\n<p>A visa spokesperson said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEach year we seek patents for hundreds of new ideas. While not all patents will result in new products or features, Visa respects intellectual property and we are actively working to protect our ecosystem, our innovations and the Visa brand.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Visa is surely keeping a close eye on the relevance of its brand in the crypto and blockchain space.<\/p>\n<p>In the beginning of October, the payments giant agreed a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/ftx-and-visa-announce-global-partnership\/\">partnership with leading cryptocurrency exchange FTX<\/a> to roll out crypto debit cards, directly linked to users\u2019 accounts.<\/p>\n<p>In  December 2021, Visa\u2019s head of crypto Cuy Sheffield confirmed his company\u2019s future relating to crypto and <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/we-will-continue-to-support-the-crypto-ecosystem-visa-says\/\">said<\/a> <\/p>\n<p> his firm \u201cbuilt a lot of momentum in this space\u201d and would \u201ccontinue to support the crypto ecosystem in several ways.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Visa is currently working with about more than 60 leading crypto platforms \u201cto launch card programs that make it easy for consumers to convert and spend digital currency at 80 million merchant locations worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/visa-working-on-digital-wallet-and-nfts-new-trademark-applications-show\/\">Source link <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org ) Global payments firm Visa has filed two trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) concerning digital wallets, non-fungible tokens, and the metaverse.
