{"id":14430,"date":"2022-11-12T03:29:26","date_gmt":"2022-11-12T03:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/ftx-close-to-bankruptcy-as-binance-withdraws-take-over-deal\/"},"modified":"2022-11-12T03:29:26","modified_gmt":"2022-11-12T03:29:26","slug":"ftx-close-to-bankruptcy-as-binance-withdraws-take-over-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/ftx-close-to-bankruptcy-as-binance-withdraws-take-over-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"FTX Close to Bankruptcy As Binance Withdraws Take Over Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>(Originally posted on : Crypto News &#8211; iGaming.org )<\/b><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/cryptocurrencies\/binance\/\">Binance<\/a> statement made on Wednesday, the company has canceled its letter of intent to acquire competitor crypto exchange FTX.<\/p>\n<p>Binance\u2019s withdrawal of its offer capped a frantic day and a half in which the world\u2019s largest crypto exchange by volume agreed to <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/crypto\/bitcoin-and-crypto-markets-down-to-a-two-years-low-as-ftx-collapses\/\">bail out its troubled riva<\/a>l in the face of a liquidity crunch caused, in part, by Binance\u2019s announcement that it would sell all of its holdings of FTX\u2019s exchange token FTT.<\/p>\n<p>In the statement, Binance detailed:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs a result of corporate due diligence, as well as the latest news reports regarding mishandled customer funds and alleged U.S. agency investigations, we have decided that we will not pursue the potential acquisition of FTX.com.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIn the beginning, our hope was to be able to support FTX\u2019s customers to provide liquidity, but the issues are beyond our control or ability to help. Every time a major player in an industry fails, retail consumers will suffer.
