On Monday, Twitter users noticed that the traditional blue bird logo had been replaced by a cartoon picture of Doge. Meanwhile, the leading meme coin cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, jumped 23% higher against the U.S. dollar after the logo change.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twitter Bird Logo Changes to Doge<\/h2>\n

Twitter has updated its logo, replacing it with a picture of the famous Shiba Inu Doge. It is uncertain how long the Doge logo will last, but it has become a topic of conversation<\/a> on Twitter since people noticed the change. \u201cDoes anyone else see Doge as the Twitter logo?\u201d one person asked<\/a> at 1:30 p.m. ET. The news follows Elon Musk\u2019s insistence<\/a> that a judge should drop the billion-dollar lawsuit and stressed that tweeting support for Dogecoin is not unlawful.<\/p>\n

After the logo changed dogecoin (DOGE) jumped 20% higher against the U.S. dollar. By 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, April 3, dogecoin (DOGE) was up 23.7% against the greenback.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It also comes at a time when blue checkmark verifications may disappear for Twitter users who do not pay a fee. Twitter\u2019s original blue bird logo is called \u201cLarry T Bird,\u201d and it was inspired<\/a> by NBA legend and Hall-of-Famer Larry Bird. There was no formal announcement of the logo change, and people suspected Elon Musk is behind it due to his fondness for the famous Shiba Inu meme.<\/p>\n

The meme coin dogecoin (DOGE)<\/a>, which is the eighth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, surged more than 23% on the news. DOGE reached a high on Monday of $0.1011 per unit, and it had $1.22 billion in 24-hour global trade volume.<\/p>\n

Year-to-date, DOGE<\/a> is down 28%, but over the last two weeks, the meme coin has increased by 30%. \u201cDOGE logo now appears when you log onto Twitter,\u201d one Twitter user commented<\/a>. \u201cWhat is Elon Musk trying to tell us, and how long will it stay there?\u201d the individual added.<\/p>\n

Musk joked<\/a> about the logo change by sharing a meme that has more than 175,000 likes and over 22,000 retweets. He also shared an image of the Wall Street Bets (WSB) Chairman telling<\/a> Musk to change the bird logo to Doge last year. \u201cHaha that would be sick,\u201d Musk replied at the time.<\/p>\n
