Spending money on it, he reiterated today, is more akin to gambling than investment.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Bitcoin is a gambling token and it doesn\u2019t have any intrinsic value, but that doesn\u2019t stop people from wanting to play the roulette wheel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Buffett is one of the most notable critics of cryptocurrencies at large.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, though, his conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway increased its stake just a day earlier in <a href=\"https:\/\/thecryptobasic.com\/2023\/04\/11\/warren-buffett-increases-stake-in-ripple-partner-sumitomo-corp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sumitomo Corp<\/a> despite the Japanese trading company\u2019s affiliations with Ripple.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin is up after the U.S. inflation data today<\/h2>\n<p>Bitcoin is trading comfortably above the $30,000 level on Wednesday following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/9f2e3cc3-683c-4e62-ba19-acbe0776636c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">update<\/a> from the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics which confirmed that inflation continued to ease in March.<\/p>\n<p>And Buffett agreed that there\u2019s no telling when the upside will exhaust. On CNBC\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/video\/2023\/04\/12\/warren-buffett-on-bitcoin-and-crypto-weve-had-an-explosion-of-gambling.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Squawk Box<\/a>\u201d, he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>That\u2019s predicting when speculation will end, when gambling instinct will go away, when more people would want to get out.
