Admitting he is starting late, the billionaire nevertheless vowed to try to present a \u201cthird option\u201d that will challenge the products of giants Microsoft and Google.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Elon Musk Slams Microsoft-Funded Openai, Google Founder for AI Approach<\/h2>\n<p>Entrepreneur Elon Musk announced he plans to create his own AI that will rival the offerings of tech giants. The new platform, which he referred to as \u201cTruthgpt,\u201d should try to understand the universe without threatening humanity.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Fox News\u2019 Tucker Carlson, Musk accused Openai, the developer of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ChatGPT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chatgpt<\/a> chatbot, of \u201ctraining the AI to lie.\u201d He believes the company is now a \u201cclosed-source\u201d, \u201cfor-profit\u201d organization in which \u201cMicrosoft has a very strong say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Elon Musk tells Tucker his plans to create a \u2018TruthGPT\u2019 AI platform\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fm04Dvky3w8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Elon Musk helped found Openai in 2015 \u201cto serve as a counterweight to Google.\u201d In the interview aired on Monday, the billionaire also criticized Larry Page, the co-founder of the tech giant, of not taking AI safety seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Musk recently joined a group of AI experts and executives who warned about potential risks to society and called for a six-month pause in the development of systems that are more powerful than Openai\u2019s latest GPT-4 model. \u201cAI is more dangerous than, say, mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production,\u201d he told Carlson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to start something which I call \u2018Truthgpt,\u2019 or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe,\u201d the owner of Tesla elaborated. He also said that his AI platform \u201cmight be the best path to safety\u201d that would be \u201cunlikely to annihilate humans,\u201d according to excerpts quoted by Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>Sources familiar with the plan have told the news agency that Musk has been recruiting AI researchers from Google to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/musk-mulls-ai-startup-to-rival-chatgpt-maker-openai-report\/\">launch an AI startup<\/a>. While admitting the project is starting late, he insisted he \u201cwill try to create a third option,\u201d after Openai\u2019s Chatgpt and Google\u2019s Bard.
