Michael Lewis, best-selling author of \u201cThe Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine\u201d and \u201cMoneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game,\u201d has revealed that he is nearing the end of his latest book, which is about Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) and the collapse of the FTX crypto exchange.<\/p>\n

Lewis\u2019 new book, \u201cGoing Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon,\u201d goes into the remarkable story of Bankman-Fried. When a buddy urged Lewis to meet with the FTX founder and analyse his character, their paths crossed in late 2021.<\/p>\n

Lewis did not specify a precise publishing date during his lecture at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami on May 19, but emphasised his wish to publish the book around the time SBF\u2019s trial begins in October. However, a cursory search on Amazon reveals an October 3 publication date.<\/p>\n

Lewis was said to be nearly finished with the book just before FTX\u2019s infamous collapse in November 2022. The ensuing legal allegations filed against SBF introduced a whole new dimension to the story of the erstwhile crypto billionaire.<\/p>\n

During his Bitcoin<\/a> conference lecture, Lewis recalled how the FTX upheaval eventually gave a huge twist to the novel, bringing a new viewpoint to the riveting story.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought \u2018I don\u2019t have a book,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cI had this conversation with a kind of person I used as a sounding board\u2026and he said, \u2018Your problem is you don\u2019t have a third act. You have the first two acts, but you don\u2019t have a third act.\u2018 And I said, \u2018That\u2019s absolutely right; I don\u2019t know how to end it.\u2018 A week later, FTX blows up. I was so grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the author, Michael Lewis, did not provide a full description of the book\u2019s details, he did indicate that he witnessed FTX\u2019s meltdown directly as it transpired.<\/p>\n
