Recently, the European Central Bank<\/a> (ECB) announced the results of its work creating prototypes for a digital euro, indicating that a decision regarding the probable change of the EU\u2019s fiat currency will be made soon. According to sources, the ECB should proceed cautiously when using distributed ledger technology and smart contracts that are modelled after the Web 3. This is because the ECB will decide later this year whether to move on with this ground-breaking project.
