Coinbase was first to announce the re-listing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/ripple\/\">Ripple<\/a> token, with Kraken swiftly joining it as XRP prices skyrocketed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Gemini also announced it was exploring re-listing of XRP for both spot and derivatives trading.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Given today&#8217;s ruling that the sale of XRP on exchanges is not a security, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Gemini?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Gemini<\/a> is exploring the listing of XRP for both spot and derivatives trading.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Gemini (@Gemini) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Gemini\/status\/1679550388272283649?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 13, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But Coinbase said in its announcement that XRP trading could still be restricted in some jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Trading is anticipated to begin later today, if liquidity conditions are met. Once sufficient supply of this asset is established trading on our XRP-USD, XRP-USDT and XRP-EUR trading pairs will launch in phases. Support for XRP may be restricted in some supported jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Coinbase Assets \ud83d\udee1\ufe0f (@CoinbaseAssets) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CoinbaseAssets\/status\/1679575241415172096?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 13, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">XRP\u2019s price gains and the crypto exchanges\u2019 actions came after a US court had earlier on Thursday ruled that XRP was not a security.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">XRP court decision \u201cfirst step\u201d toward regulatory clarity<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Commenting on the decision to re-enable XRP trading, Marco Santori, Kraken\u2019s Chief Legal Officer,<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/msantoriESQ\/status\/1679590081072594952\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<u>said<\/u><\/a>:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<em>T<\/em><em>his morning, the Federal Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that XRP is not a security. As such, just a few minutes ago, Kraken re-enabled trading in XRP for US users<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Santoru added that the exchange is looking at the court\u2019s decision on XRP as one more step towards regulatory clarity in the United States. But while crypto markets reacted bullishly to the news, Santori notes that there could still be some \u201ctwists and turns\u201d with regard to the case.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<em>We view the court\u2019s decision as a first step toward meaningful legal clarity in the US. \u00a0Clarity allows us to plan, to hire and to invest in here, where we were founded. The case is still likely to take some twists and turns, and other cases will follow similarly winding paths. Capitol Hill is working hard, too. Multiple bills are making their ways through congress. This is going to take years<\/em>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As highlighted here, news of the judge\u2019s decision against SEC triggered massive buying pressure for XRP.
