It continued its meteoric rise to hit a market cap of over $85 million and see multiple traders report astounding gains.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But on July 31, with market uncertainty hitting the roof around the actions of the BALD developer, the token\u2019s price plummeted.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">BALD price<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to data from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/bald\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">CoinGecko<\/a>, BALD nosedived by nearly 90% as traders reacted to the development that saw Bald\u2019s deployer remove millions of dollars\u2019 worth of token liquidity. The token quickly fell from highs of $0.09 to $0.004, bleeding more than 94% from that peak.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Smart money on-chain account Lookonchain highlighted that the BALD deployer had earned $5.7 million in two days.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BALD&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BALD<\/a> deployer has removed all liquidity of BALD\/ETH.<\/p>\n<p>He bridged 9,385 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Base?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Base<\/a>, and now he holds 12,433 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a>, earning 3,048 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a> ($5.7M) in 2 days.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MghRrP9jw5\">https:\/\/t.co\/MghRrP9jw5<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UgFi71mY5D\">pic.twitter.com\/UgFi71mY5D<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lookonchain (@lookonchain) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lookonchain\/status\/1686056439436161024?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 31, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/exchanges\/coinbase\/\">Coinbase<\/a> unveiled Base, an Ethereum layer 2 chain built on the OP stack in January and launched its testnet in February.
