The whale activity happened as the price of Ether declined alongside that of Bitcoin and other crypto assets during last week\u2019s broader market sell-off.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to on-chain data, the three of the four whales bought 18,000 ETH, 17,900 ETH and 18,200 ETH worth more than $30 million each. The other scooped 2,000 ETH worth approximately $3.4 million.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Whales are accumulating <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a> from the bottom!<\/p>\n<p>4 whales accumulated 56.1K <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a> ($94M) in the past 7 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 0x3CEE accumulated 18K <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a>($30M);<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 0x3478 accumulated 2K <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a>($3.4M);<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 0x5bA3 accumulated 17.9K <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a>($30M);<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 smartestmoney.eth accumulated 18.2K <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a>($30.6M). <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/M93Mhkpn6p\">pic.twitter.com\/M93Mhkpn6p<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lookonchain (@lookonchain) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lookonchain\/status\/1694560619993940293?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 24, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Market intelligence platform Santiment also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/santimentfeed\/status\/1694739127927992467\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">highlighted<\/a> a spike in whale activity for Ethereum during last week\u2019s market weakness.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Notably, addresses with 10-10k ETH significantly added to their holdings as whale transactions hit 23k over the past week. It\u2019s the highest transaction count for this category of large holders, with this coming as new 1,788 addresses joined the cohort.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udc33 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Ethereum?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Ethereum<\/a>&#8216;s network has picked up in large address activity during this drop below $1,650 and its highly volatile price conditions.
