The collaboration between banking behemoth Mastercard and cryptocurrency exchange Binance to provide crypto card services in select regions is set to cease on September 22. This partnership, which sought to provide Binance Cards in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Bahrain, will come to an end, affecting users in these countries.<\/p>\n

Binance Cards were created to allow customers to make purchases in traditional currencies such as USD, backed by their cryptocurrency holdings on the Binance exchange. The eventual termination of this cooperation, however, will have no effect on Mastercard\u2019s other cryptocurrency card collaborations, including one with Gemini, another big cryptocurrency exchange.<\/p>\n

While Mastercard has not revealed the particular reasons for terminating the agreement with Binance, the company\u2019s actions are consistent with its regular practice. Mastercard performs extensive reviews and continuous monitoring of all cryptocurrency relationships to guarantee compliance and regulatory adherence.<\/p>\n

Binance, on the other hand, has yet to issue a formal comment about the matter. However, the platform\u2019s customer care account has recognized the cessation of card services in select locations, most notably Latin America and the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Binance\u2019s decision to cease the partnership on crypto card services comes as the exchange faces a number of legal and regulatory difficulties on a worldwide scale.
