This is after the platform\u2019s Liquid Staking Module went live on September 12, adding to ATOM\u2019s utility within the DeFi ecosystem.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">Cosmos Hub\u2019s liquid staking model is now live<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With Cosmos Hub\u2019s upgrade and unlocking of the Liquid Staking Module, ATOM holders have fresh access to new yield opportunities. LSM means tgose with ATOM can now liquid-stake already staked ATOM tokens without havig to wait for the 21-day unbonding period to elapse.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The v12 upgrade is successfully completed \u269b\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>The Liquid Staking Module is live on the Cosmos Hub!<\/p>\n<p>With LSM the Hub unlocks new dynamics within the ATOM Economic Zone.<\/p>\n<p>Users can now directly liquid-stake their already staked <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ATOM?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ATOM<\/a> without waiting for the unbonding period. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IdIyr8nsdL\">pic.twitter.com\/IdIyr8nsdL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Cosmos Hub \u269b\ufe0f (@cosmoshub) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cosmoshub\/status\/1701951434651013482?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 13, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This is good news for ATOM holders as it means they can participate more in the DeFi ecosystem and still earn from staking yield. One can unstake ATOM and directly liquid-stake it, this time with no 21-day restriction.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The community should however note that an initial cap of 25% has been set on the total amount of ATOM that can be liquid-staked. Other measures to \u201cmitigate liquid staking risks\u201d have also been instituted via governance-controlled parameters.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<em>As an additional security feature, validators who want to receive delegations from liquid staking providers would be required to self-bond a certain amount of ATOM<\/em>,\u201d Cosmos Hub announced.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">ATOM price outlook<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The market\u2019s reaction to the upgrade was a bump in the price of ATOM. Amid the <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/cosmos\/buy\/\">buy<\/a> pressure, the token\u2019s value rose to highs of $6.80 on Thursday. CoinGecko data shows the cryptocurrency is currently 3% up in the past 24 hours.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fr-img-space-wrap\">\n<p class=\"fr-img-space-wrap2\">While price has seen an upside over the past two days, ATOM remains largely in a downtrend since the year-to-date peak above $15 in February. The RSI and MACD indicators on the daily chart continue to give bears the upper hand, while price is poised at a key resistance-turned-support zone.<span class=\"fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-draggable\" style=\"width: 700px\"><span class=\"fr-img-wrap\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.igms.io\/2023\/08\/14\/1694723338169-e543a7da-66ff-40ea-9112-cde2a5abca64.png\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"fr-fic fr-dib\" width=\"700\" height=\"267\"\/><span class=\"fr-inner\">Cosmos Hub (ATOM) price chart.
